im thinking about sw20 rear koni sports and 250lb springs.
    anyone tried that.
    didnt think of camry.
i might have to put a couple of sets on the shock dyno and see how they go.
    cheers

Just a quick one too, i know that for XT130 struts, RA28/RA23 shocks and springs will match up. Checking on Pedders website can confirm that they have the same shock and spring part numbers. BUT for the RT132 while it shares the same springs part number it has a DIFFERENT shock part number to the RA23/28. Yet they are meant to be the same strut?

Can anyone confirm RA23/RA28 shock inserts will fit on RT132 struts?

    Cheers

yeh i found this too.... for xt130 the left shock had a different part number to the right shock.

I ended up using ra23 ones (pedders) and they fit but are slightly shorter than the xt130 ones, so you mite want to space them up. I didnt and it still works (i think ).

    [QUOTE=takai]Assembly

I havent read the whole thread ........... damn dial up , so not sure if this has been mentioned BUT
FWIW these coil over threads kits can be bought off ebay for BUY IT NOW $6.99 US ....... Yes that is correct !! and get this .... you get 4 of them plus springs.

They are to suit a honda civic which has the same size struts as the AE 86 and also my cortina, hence i just purchased some !!! Cost me $86 Aus delivered for 4 of em.

The springs were a little short in my application so i bought some from kings but the springs that come with them look exactly the same as the ones in takai's pictures ..... so should fit the toyota application.

They look EXACTLY the same apart from the top mount.

Ill have some pics up in my thread soon too of the coilover conversion.

P.S taki : This is one damn useful thread even for those of us that dont have toyotas just for the coilover conversion in general.

Nah i have mine.... Got em about 2 weeks ago.

They fit over the strut perfectly. I didnt have to go too the measures takai went to : IE heating threaded tube and cooling strut but my cortina struts might be that bee's dick smaller.

They are a 2 inch strut on my cortina and the thread slid straight over with no probs at all

They use a cap screw to lock. will take some pics tomorrow.

The threaded nut is about twice the thickness of a std nut and lock nut ........ So it looks pretty gutsy and shouldnt be a prob as far as strength is concerned.

You can buy those nuts pretty cheap too if you are set on having the double nut.

From memory Corona bolt spacing is 85mm. I used KE70 steering arms because those were the shortest I could find. KE70 bolt spacing was 2mm off, being 87mm IIRC. I machined these to fit. KE70 steering arms also reduce camber by 0.5 deg or so but I had plenty already. I think that AE86 power steering arms are with 85mm bolt spacing. Maybe someone could confirm this by measuring AE86 steering arm...
