Is that a good price for under a G?

From what i can gather people are paying around 13 or more for same set up.

I'm doing the XT130 Struts, Hilux Calipers/ Pug Discs brake upgrade in my TA22.

Similar to what mynameisrodney mentioned earlier in this thread, I plan on cutting down the XT130 struts and using the TA22 spring perches/ springs in my TA22 to maintain my current ride height.

I plan on using new TA22 inserts in the shortened XT130 struts. Anybody know if there's any drama's in doing this??

I've read that others are recommending SW20 MR2 rear inserts? Would there be any advantage to running these instead of TA22 inserts? Is one better than the other?

Any assistance/ advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    1975 3T-GTE TA22 Celica

Good luck SeptemberSquall, I got the run around by my supplier first through DBA then RDA, took me 3 months to get a set of slotted rotors, standard were no better!

Did a little research today maybe you could use Honda rotors

    DBA 185 , or 200

they are 282mm diameter ( machine down to 266mm)
have same / similar depth and thicknesses
The only other thing you will have to do is enlarge centre hole from 64mm to 76mm ( you have to machine outer anyway).

i think it will work just fine and be readily available, not too sure about slotted / drilled ( check out www.dba.com.au and download the Aus catalogue). My pick would be dba 185, not too sure about legalities of milling out the centre hole but no different than doing the outer disc?

    Hope this helps cheers Rosie.

    Hi,

none of these will probably work (except the pug one obviously) as the offset of the disk from the hub will probably be too much and be hitting steering components. It's tight enough from what i've seen using the 43mm offset on the pug.

DBA 185 is a 21mm so won't fit or it least be very vry tight!! Before it is machined it has a braking face of 50mm (ie distance from outside edge to inner braking edge on rotor) and when 8mm gets machined off that then it becomes 42mm, the hilux calipers take a pad that is about 55mm at it's widest so kinda pointless.

I've looked at alot of rotors while i couldn't find mine and i found that the puegeot 206 99-01 rotors looked pretty good. They are 266 diameter, 20.5mm thick (could be interesting) centre hole is 66mm but can easily be machined out, total height is only 27.4 so spacers between hubs and rotors are needed, the downside is the braking face is 45mm but still better that 42!! The next model 206 (02-06) was better again but it was a 22mm rotor, you could probably use the s13 hilux caliper as they are for a 25mm rotor. Again diameter is 266mm, centre hole is 66, total height is 34.2 so spacers needed but just not as big. But again, braking face is about 47mm.

This is the best site to look at

    https://www.brembo.com/ENG/catalogo_AM/2007/index.html

as if you look for items in european market it shows complete dimensions of everything so you know exactly what you need to know. From memory there were a few ford transit rotors that were close but needed the thicker caliper and also some corvette ones i think. The searcher also lets you type in dimensions of what you're after anbd throws results back at you. Have a good look, i've got a list of a few things that were close but once i found my pug rotors i stopped searching. When i find my scribble i'll list it up here.

    Good luck again,

    like to pay?
    nothing of course

    prepared to pay?
i've been quoted between 89 dollars and 107 dollars each
availability varies from NLA to 6-8weeks

    not prepared to pay?
    ms65 crown hub money

what does 'know of a few NOS sets bangin around' mean?
are you a business or a private individual? if you are a business, do you have them in stock? if not, what lead time to source and dispatch? and what's the price? most shops i go to have a price on the merchandise if you don't mind my saying so, no offence.
