The guy on EBAY that i got the pump from was wrecking the whole car and also at the time had the fueltank up for grabs as well as most other parts. i think an Item that large would mean freight would be the killer as it always seems to cost so much to get stuff here. The pictures that were supplied looked identicle to the RA28 tank AUS version.
I will only know when it gets here to compare it with our stuff. I have a spare tank and will check all the dimensions then.
I also have the USA microfische set comming for the RA series celica and I might be able to grab some part numbers off that for the pump.

    2 things, 1) TA22 tanks wont fit RA28
    2) where the hell do you get an early model TA22 EFI tank?? and is it the type that sits in the floor of the boot (wont fit RA23) or the one that sits behind the back seats??

Also, I will be using a drop tank due to the fact that I want to utilise my boot for a change

    1. It will with slight work.
    2.
    3. Boot floor ... fitment same as 1.

But again i cant see 70's fuel tank baffles being anywhere up to scratch for todays motors.

I like the drop tank idea .. dislike the prices

A drop tank is still just a tank...
What are you going to put inside it to stop the surging?
And then why couldnt you put that inside the normal tank?

Im going to put a surge tank inside the drop tank. To do a full sized surge tank the same as my plan in a normal tank, you would need to cut the top off... which a lot of people are trying not to have to do. Have a look at Major Clod's diagram.

I'm still convinced a honda tank and pump would do the trick.

I'll be checking hondwreck's piles of fuel tanks out next week and let everyone know if there is a good replacement.

What are the actual laws preventing me from having boot mounted surge tanks?
on the bassis the tank is mounted in the boot aswell?
on a side note if there is alloy firewall between boot and passenger compartment could a engineer sign it off

I was looking at mine the other day (ta22) and am thinking of getting your off the shelf tank and welding 2 tabs off the side to allow it to bolt in with the drivers side tank mounting points then running a line straight down and under the car when i'll prob mount a pump.

Just make a hole in the top the same size as the surge tank tube, no need to cut the complete top of the tank off.

Probably would change from engineer to engineer... youll have to ask a few.

I know the engineer here in Adelaide that i use wanted all surge tank, pumps & hoses in a sealed box vented under the car. That applied to TA22s & RA28s.
