it's an overflow, and a breather, that should go back into the tank.
p.s., witzl did a thread on EFI which includes surge tank setup.search and yee shall find.
hey guys,
ive got a surge tank, sitting at home, waiting to b fitted...cant be that complicated...but im lost...![]()
the tank i have is a 2 litre upright cylinder, with to out lets at the top (one above the other..). and one at the botton..
well, the one at the bottom obviously runs to the motor...one top from the tank, to the surge tank, and whats the other for? breather or something?![]()
i already have an INTANK efi setup.... so i shouldnt have to use a lift pump right?![]()
i searched!but nothing on HOW TO FIT....
any help greatly appreciated, and rewarded!, lol,
blake![]()
cheers, blake![]()

beer me!
bottom one to your high pressure pump, and the to top one are low pressure from fuel tank and second top one you can return to your tank as i do or return from the fuel rail as some do, i hate hot fuel.
lol cancel what i what i said about return from fuel rail! thats only if you have three top outlets/inlets.

as i figure the fuel should just flow throught the tank? im lost![]()
efi will push it to the rail fine{one of them} and then you need a lift pump.Originally Posted by IN 05 NT
ahaha ok,

anyway, the lift pump lifts the fuel from the tank and fills the surge tank, cuz an EFI pump sucks at sucking!![]()
it doesn't have enough suck to pull the fuel uphill, you basically have to force feed it.
beer me!
yeah im looking at the witzls thread...
im getting the idea now, ......so i have to have the lift pump after the intank EFI pump...or do i have to remove the efi pump.....run the lift pump into the surge tank, the the EFI pump to to fuel rail?![]()
ahh k....so i'll have to remove the intank efi pump....hmmm, more money needed, lol!![]()
blake![]()
4-7psi intank pump to replace your efi pump.
hook this to 1 top outlet
2nd top outlet straight back to your tank in case it fils ..then it returns to your main tank.
bottom outlet to external efi hi pressure pump .. then to your exsisting lines running to the engine.
return from motor to main tank goes unchanged.

No reason you can't use your intank pump as the lift pump, then use another external EFI pump to feed the engine.
high pressure not a bit much for a surge tank?
fair enough then ... one less part to buy i guess.. learn something every day.![]()
