How much power are you after? I personally was going to get a Garrett GT2871R or a KKR380 and aim around the 235-250rwkw mark. Should make for a nice responsive bit of fun

You'd definetly be looking at a bigger turbo in that case. Do a search looking around for some of 6boost's stuff.

I don't mean a website, I mean some of his discussions on here about turbo sizing.

Yeah you'd have to do a lot of work to get a 10sec pass from a 1g!

And for the record, it's unlikely you'll get 300rwkw from the 2l 1G without a healthy dose of lag.

300rwkw and not too laggy don't really go hand in hand for a 2.0.

If I were going for a nice streetable turbo upgrade fro a 1G I'd go for a GT3071, with the 60mm turbine wheel not the small wheel. Or possibly a GT3076 with the same turbine.

For 300rwkw I'd be going with the GT3582R with a .82 turbine should be making full boost by 5000-5500rpm and will easily make the power you are after on reasonable amounts of boost.

but the thing i dont understand is, its a 6 cyl,

4cyl SR20s are pumping out massive numbers with minor work, and are running the times,

what makes this so different in a 1G which has 2 extra cylinders,

( should never have listen to my cousins and went rotary, would of saved myself alot of headaches)

Who cares if it's a 6 cylinder? It's still only got 2l to play with. It'll do the numbers just as easily as an SR20, it's just a 300rwkw SR20 is going to be laggy too!

Being a 6 cylinder or a four cylinder has very little impact on the results.

I think you'll also find that there is a hell of a lot more money into most reliable high power SR's than people tend to make out.

To make 300rwkw on a 1G and do it reliably daily I think you'd need
A built bottom end just for reliability's sake since you'll be spinning it hard and could end up with a bad batch of fuel
    Cleaned up head porting
    Upgraded cams and valvetrain
    Good balance job
    550cc+ injectors
    Decent fuel pump
    really good cooler
    good management
    GT3076R with a hell of a lot of boost or a GT3582R with 22 - 25psi

Sure you can do it cheaper with less work but you best make sure you have a good supply of long motors.

I run a t3/t4 that was on a stock 1g, injector upgrade, motec, 600by300 cooler 15 psi and it only made 195rwkw. Boost started at 3000rpm and full by 3500rpm. Any more lag than that I dont think it would have been as enjoyable as it was. If you want an easy 300rwkw id suggest a 1jz

really depends what you want dude, BIG power and RESPONSIVE dont go together with a 1g...or any car for that matter...

go for a gt28 if you want real response, gt3071r (which i have) for good power (will flow 500hp) or a gt3076 for that bit more,

ive got full boost round the 3700 in 1st.....really isnt any laggier than the stockers!

and i made 195rwkw on only 12psi...no where near the limit of this turbo!!!
    (stock ecu, inj, and AFM)

300rwkw is easily capable out of a 1g, but it comes doen to what $$$ you want to spend and how reliable you want it to be
