Thanks guys! I appreciate ur kind words

I'd love to put it down to pure skill, but at 70kgs, I think I have a fair weight advantage over most... if not all of you!

Pffft... 70kg... Fatty... i weigh under 50kg. Count me in for next time (if it's not such a god damn hot day). I'll show you what a real weight advantage is.

lol... Slim, Mate, that bent conrod could've been collecting dust in YOUR cupboard!!!

Next time for sure, if ur up for it

Sounds like there are already ppl keen for revenge! I reckon we should see if they can balance all the weights of the "kart+driver"s up so that no one really has any advantage! There may be a slight advantage in some karts being better, but the ones I was in felt pretty similar.

i must have slept about 12hrs and i'm still buggered. no bruises yet, but have two lumps of pain underneath my shoulder blades, must put in more cushions next time.

Thanks heaps to Yian for his organisation of the event, it was worth every dollar. great to meet everyone, and race each other in a fun environment.

good work Tim great driving out there, pity that old man is faster then you

should this become a half-yearly/yearly event?

pics will be up later tonight after i go through them all. thanks Paul (stahlz) for taking pics whilst i was out on the track

haha... I really enjoyed these 2-stroke hire karts.

The four-stroke ones shit me to the point that I wont even bother going anymore!

And to get good karts, run by great guys, with a decent bbq after and prizes for the top 3 karters (did you guys get booze? or was it fruit juice?), I thought it was well worth it.

My work was organising one at Ace karts... 4 stroke karts, 10 mins qualifying + 2* 15 mins racing. Not much longer at all (i think we had 2*10mins + 1*15mins?) and it costs $80 anyway!

I was impressed with silhouette! Great choice Yian!

The thing i was most impressed with was how fast old snowy ran (the old guy). He was a machine. Never seen a hundred year old guy run around so fast... and he drove that kart like a man possessed too!

I was particularly fond of his extremely stylish comb over.

Are the 4 stroke karts the ones that use generator engines?

I've never been on these 2 stroke carts before, I personally thought they had too little torque to handle my extra weight... the generator powered ones down at le mans seemed to be quite close last I raced there... also that cheap $50 one we went to impromtu after the january BBQ, sure they were crap and indoors but there wasn't a huge difference between 1st and last i believe.

anyone tried south morang recently? if it's still there I say we try it out, u can even fuck up and fly off into a lake!

I've only ever raced at Sidetracked and Auskarts years ago. They were 4 stroke but the variation in top speed and handling of the karts were too much to make a real race. It was not so much how good you were at racing it was how fast you could run to get into the quick karts when they opened the gate.

What about the ones that have a gravel track... they seem like heaps of fun. I'd also like to race on a wet track.
