i think i figured it out.
the brackets on the passenger side are different from stock 2t mounts. i think this is responsible for the angles being out.

Jase do you know if the passengers bracket was custom made?

Only problem is that it looks like i will need to replace a hose if i put on the stock bracket, but meh, at least i solved the problem of the engine mounts.

I don't recall if the passenger bracket was a custom. Good to hear that you got it sorted.
    YelloRolla's KE20 1/4mi = 11.32 @ 119mph @ 22psi on slicks
    12.44 @ 113 mph on 165 wide street tyres
210rwkw - not bad for a smelly 3TGTE running pump fuel.

thats strange, i had no issues with brackets being different in my '22 3TGTEU conversion... all i had to do was reweld the bracket 2" outwards and it fit straight in

the 2" reweld was to accomodate for the turbo oil return line, other than that both sides sit perfect

    cheers

well mt 3t came out of a KE corolla.
so it might have had custom brackets.

fingers crossed it will be fine now

    Kugzs,

I was thinking (dangerous I know), but you haven't yet unbolted the mounts of your 3TC and bolted them to the 3T GTE, have you?

You're right that the engine may have something different/custom on it, because it was originally done for a 2TG in the KE.

I am certain that your 3TC brackets will bolt to the block. I have just finished modifying one such TA22 bracket over here to brace the turbo. And I have noticed that the TA22 mounts are quite different to the 3T GTE.

    Kugs,

2T TA22 brackets will work perfectly.
