From Measurements a s13 Balljoint will press into a GH Sigma LCA, have balljoint and LCA but havent pressed together yet.

GH LCA +30mm compare to RA23 LCA, front link and sway bolts line up.

S13 Spindle -20mm compared to RA23 Spindle (ball joint to Wheel mount flange with brake rotor in place)

S14 has a different taper to S13 apparently (Haven't measured but have been told).

Just Jap do a 5 stud hub for the S13 spindle.

The TR MAgna Balljoint didnt pan out, think it was the taper but not sure, can have a look throug some numbers when home next if you want (2 weeks today).

    regards
    jon

somebody start a thread and we can profile all the control arms out there.

i have MX62, MX83, RA40, RA60, AE71 and maybe another couple. if someone starts a thread, ill picture and measure these.

they are a little hard to measure but im sure we can figure out a consistent way

i taking a wild guess here but isnt MA61 BJ's the same as MX62???

i have a TS magna balljoint at work, the taper is perfect for the S13 spindle, however the mounting diameter is a FRACTION larger than the standard sprinter balljoint, almost nothing in it. im planning on grinding a slight taper on it to aid with pressing it in, it can probably be pressed in without doing this however.
ive had all the conversion parts sitting on my bench at work for ages, the only thing stopping me is replacement inserts for my coilovers, once this is done ill do an in depth write up if anyone is interested.

yeah i might do that actually, good thinking. otherwise it doesnt matter if i grind the lower edge off the bj, once the bj is in it wont affect anything.

I don't have an issue with using the 5 stud S13 hub thingys from Just Jap except that they sell them in sets of 4 (front and rear) and they effectivly double the conversion price. Though if it looks like the S13 Spindle will adapt with less heartache using the 5 stud hub I may just go that way.

The NZ ones are sold by the pair, why would they only sell them as 4's? Most people would get the rears from the wreckers.

I believe with the rears there is an issue with the handbrake connection that makes the swap difficult, The Hub gets around this problem. add to that JustJap have them made in sets and they don't want to be left with a heap of rears or fronts left over. I don't know 100% but generally the threads I've read on going 5 Stud on S13 involved alot of work on the rears. I'm not interested in the rears So I gloss over it.

True there would be alot of nissan boys that have done the fronts and would like to do the rears. I don't think JustJap realise that the brake upgrade is more common than just on S13's. Next time I'm down there I may drop in and have a word with them and see what the reasons for it are. Apparently the kits are selling well so there shouldn't be a reason that they can't sell them in pairs.

I have heard that the NZ and some from Japan also don't spin "true" But I haven't found any more mentions of this bar 1 thread.

    Cheers
    Simon

... EVosit - i've done some measuring and thinking and staring at my wheels, and decided that the S13 strut/brake idea is just sill considering how flat my Simmons F90s are.

I'll be heading down the Hilux/Pug/Rona upgrade with some S13 cambertops. WEEEEEEEEeeee!

hilux callipers are too heavy in my opinion.

R32 callipers are becoming damn cheap now. the price difference is negligible

R32 callipers are pretty heavy, 3.3kg-ish according to barned01, i have a pair of 'lux callipers in the garage, but no scales to weigh them... IMO it's not that they're too heavy as such, rather for the given weight i'm sure there's better callipers out there..

i'm hunting down RX7 callipers. from what i know, they're lighter, same bolt hole spacing, and a thicker (22mm) rotor then the hilux (20mm). means there's more available vented rotors.

If anyone wants weights of RX7 calipers or distances between mounting holes etc let me know as I have a pair in my 'to do one day bin'.

Hilux calipers are around 8kg from memory.
