My 1JZ used to stall on U turns without a PS idle up valve, wasn't totally un-drivable tho, not like you do a thousand u turns a day.
Cheers

Hi Guys,
I've got a JZZ30 engine here and it looks like the High pressure line is a part of the idle up valve, different to the jza70 which it's 2 separate parts. the factory jzz30 high pressure line has been cut so I've got a JZA70 hose ready to go on.
The problem is I cannot leave the current idle up valve on since it has it's own outlet for the factory hose on it. Until I find a JZA70 idle up valve, can I run without one or would the engine totally stall on full lock turns or just the idle decrease a lot?
Is there any other 1jz, Chaser perhaps that has the same type of idle up valve that JZA70 has?
Thanks

I run my 1jz-ge vvti with non-toyota p/s pump (my steering system needs more pressure). So there's no idle up switch to the ECU and no extra air into header when p/s pressure is high. The only thing happening when I steer hard is idle dropping down to some 550 rpm. It stalled just once over period of half a year. So I assume there's no reason to try hard and install some p/s switch.
