i am using a microtech and want to use air temp sensor function, my question is, does the 2j have a factory sensor in inlet manifold? If not can somone supply me with a part number for a bosch or other after market sensor.
thanks

where is it located on manifold?Originally Posted by Sir_2jza70
On the engine side of the manifold, between the throttle cable bracket thingy and the MAP sensor.

If the 2jz is like the 1jz then that sensor will most likely heatsoak easily. My intake temps jump very quickly when I stop which indicateds to me that it is reading more engine bay air temp than the actual intake charge air temp.
With a microtech, you can use a sensor from a JE camira. I was going to place mine on the cooler piping before the throttle body.
Hope that helps![]()
better sensor is one from a V6 commodore - is an open-cage sensor, not solid brass tip. Cage is non metalic and responds quickly to temp chagnes. Only issue is the sensor failing prematurely from vibration.
You find them at the back of the manifold - comes with good water-proof connector as well.
Mine is post throttle so it doesn't get any weird spikes from rapid throttle closing and the like.
