    Takai,

I can only suggest keeping an eye out mate. The prices seem to vary quite allot but private sales seem to commonly be around that price give or take a few hundred $$$.

You could see what CLG has at the moment ?

why do you think you would need a motec to run a vvt 2j? its 1 cam. im not 100% familar with the system fitted to the 2j but i was under the impression it was a exhaust cam only and not constantly varying.. similar to a 20v. if this is the case i dont see the harm in having it rpm switched. the factory ecu takes into account a few more variables, but in practise (on a 20v) this doesnt seem to make much differance.

2JZ is VVTi (as has been posted about 10000 times this thread) and not VVT.

VVTi is as you guessed constantly variable, and only MoTeC and Autronic at this stage can control it.

And its on the intake cam.

AFAIK no, on the variable setup you either use it fully variable, or you don't use it at all.

Could be wrong on this though.

Rod: How did you end up wiring up the Auto? Did you use the A350 or sandwich an A340 on?

sideshow: have you ever wired up an A340 alongside the 2JZGE Auto ECU?

just found some news about the autos

on a 1jz vvti the auto shifter has an ecu in it aswell

this talks to the engine ecu and the auto gbox

i will go over my 1jz vvti diagrams and see if theres a way around it

but i dont think so at the moment

so im not sure if the 2jz vvti is same as 1jz in the ecu workings department

    Takai,

Mos did all the wiring for my old girl. The factory Auto came with the engine so is wired in complete with the Auto ECU check light, Power button and overdrive on/off switch Works a treat.

    not wired an a340

    what does the 2j have

this 1j i will finish off this thursday

a normal toyota auto is piss easy to do

this is my first 1j vvti and the shifter has an ecu with it

i have another one to do in afew weeks but the customer doesnt have the shifter for it

so i have to see if theres a way to get around it

the vvti ecu seams to have much more inputs than yr normal 1jz
