Thanks for the heads up, I did the front 2 windows and back corners. It worked quite well, the only the issue I had was in one area.

There was tiny little bubbles in the tint, it seems like I may have overworked the tint and it may have bubbled due to heat?

I bought about 7-8 metres of the stuff so I could do the car twice over.

Is there a good quality brand of blade that I could buy that is not likely to go blunt? I bought the best one I could find and it was catching the tint after 2-3 windows.

I heard that I would have to heat shrink the tint by placing it on the outside of the window first.

I love cars and get a huge enjoyment out of tinkering with them. I could pay a professional (and they are called professionals for a reason, this is an art) but I seem to be happy enough with a diy job

Worst case scenario I can peel it off and try again

Bubbles are generally in the film due to foreign objects like hair or dust holds the film off the glass thus trapping air or by excessive heat boiling the adhesive and leaving bubbles in the film.

Yes for the rear screen you will need to "heat form" it to the outside with the backing sheet facing up, look on google on hints on how to dry shrink (i prefer over wet shrinking) plenty of videos out there.

You really want to find knife blades made by olfa that are stainless steel rather than the normal carbon blades as carbon scratch glass very easily. About $25 a pack of 50. I can use up to 4 blades a car or sometimes 4 cars per blade depending on who what where etc.

+rep for giving it a go yourself. Nice work

Thanks very much for the rep

I'll be working on it tonight, I did actually buy some olfa blades, they are well worth the money. Repco is now selling them. I think the hardest thing is knowing what portion of the blade is going blunt (due to the fact that you will usually hold the blade in the same poition every time).

I have seen dry heat form done with a glove and hair drier which seems to work quite well.

Could air bubbles be friction related? In my first tint job I may have overworked the tint by trying to get the water out.

My other issue was not cutting the top of the tint enough, as a result water would sit inbetween the top of the water and the top of the tint.
