Hi guys, i have just recently upgraded from the dizzy to a bank of ls1 coil packs and have removed the standard igniter/coil and the tacho no longer works, i have tried wiring it to the adaptronic on the tacho output however it doesnt work, i believe the adaptronic sends a +ve signal where the tacho requires a -ve signal. does anyone have any experience in toyota tachos on aftermarket ecus?
Cheers,
Tim

Slight simpler
Can ditch the diode on the input.

even simpler just use the relay coil itself.
(I have done this on a car and it works)

Hey guys, got the tacho working however it isnt accurate, it was also like this on the stock distributor setup, 7000 is actually 5000 on the tacho, does anyone know how to correct this or do i need a new tacho?
I'd try a new tacho.

if it was like that on the stock system, your tacho is definitely dodgy.
get a new one.
...... butt scratcher?!
Replaced the tacho unit as it smells a bit burnt out, guessing a capacitor is gone, but yeah its all good again.
Thanks for ya help guys.
appreciate it.
