I'll work on my circuit this week. I'll be using digital signal processing (DSP) with an active bandpass network to provide the cleanest output I can.
Can't use passive due to the small signal levels involved.

I'm glad you have a clue what you're talking about TERRA. Because you might as well have written that in japanese

Why not just use a multiple-feedback bandpass filter? Depending on the selectivity you need you could even use a state variable filter and only use the bandpass output.
The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.

Got the gear at work which I can get for peanuts. Plus overkill is awesome.

Hahahaha, do you have any idea what sort of selectivity is required? It'd be pretty damn easy to make something with the -3db point being around 400Hz either way, any more than that you would probably need a state variable filter.

    Hi there,
I have installed a GZE from an AE92 DLI with an AFM about 12 months back and i have not experienced any type of ignition breakdown or similar sort of feeling at around 5500 rpm and it pulls like a freight train through the 5500 rpm range.

I was wondering if the difference in the ECU (being AFM) may have something to do with this.

I am interested to see the outcome to this problem

Can't seem to find anyone who as actually fixed it though which is concerning.
Try advancing the timing set it at around 25degrees and see how it goes, get back to me

if it starts pinging it will get retarded till it doesn't, it worked to get rid of my powerdrop on all three 4agze's i have had

My theory is that when the powerdrop happens the timing is getting retarded by a certian amount, so when i advanced it heaps when powerdrop comes along and pulls timing out it doesn't pull the full amount that i added in out so its still advanced to a certain amount, like i said give it a try if it helps its only taken you 5min

That does sound reasonable. I'll find out how much it retards and post back. That way we can work out exactly how much advance is required without going too far.

Isn't base timing supposed to be about 10 BTDC?
I still havent timed my engine yet. Gotta get some alloy plate to make your degree wheel TERRA.
I havent got any timing marks due to bigger crank pulley.
Does sound feasable pogs. 25 degrees sounds huge. But like I've said. I'm the GZE noob and I know you've had a few so I'll give it a try once I can time the engine.

has anyone got rid of the intake heater? i mean stock excuse for an intercooler??

i know there is an issue with the knock sensor.. but this alone will lower intake temps.. and reduce the chance of pinging..

i agree with poggs... i run massive amounts of timing in all my 4a's (with knock sensors) you don't break into the 13 sec 1/4 mile zone on stock pulley's other wise

The 5500rpm power drop only occurs with AE101 4AGZEs, not AE92 or AW11 ones.
AE102 - Charlene the Old Faithful, Reborn
