hey all
just recently, my fuel display was working accurate (or so i assume)
every now and then it would say i have more fuel in the tank AFTER a drive, ie. start with 19L and end up with 24L (which would be awesome cause then i could run my car for free, and also sell extra petrol my car produces)..but i dont think thats the case.
i ended up with 14L or so and thought i would fill up
i filled the car up with about 20L and guestimated around 30L. the display is showing 31L and the [E | | | - - - F] digital display is showing it on half (which i assumed was correct)
ive driven roughly 50kms so far, and digital display still shows half a tank, and when i press fuel button it still says 31L
any ideas? is it a sensor issue?
thanks

The V8's and GT-TL's are known to get dirty later in life and give erratic readings.
It's relatively easy to fix http://soarer.ace.net.au/v8_fuel_guage.html
The Pov Pack TT's I think use a standard float sender, but someone else might want to confirm or deny that.
yup like Mr Phreak has said.
GT-TL need to have the sensor cleaned.
easy job took me about an hour....i used a 2000 grid WD paper also after cleaning with metho.
but pov packs use floater.
one advice is if you use the ethonol based cheap fuels (E10) then the sensor will read very wrong...
thanks heaps guys! will check it out this weekend
im using pump fuel, but 98ron
unfortunately in WA we dont have any "high" ethanol pump fuels
also, what oil is good to use in the V8s? and spark plugs?

hehe i have learnt to never trust my ma61 digi dash, i just calculate how far i have traveled with how much i put it, my reading may change by 2-3 bars in the 15L scale!!
