I would grab the radiator from an AE71... they were a bit larger than the KE70, with a decent area 2 row core.....
Dont forget to set up a thermofan or appropriate clutch-type fan (NB: thermofan will be easier in this case).
just about to do the 20v conversion in my ke70, and need to at least recore the radiator in it - all crumbling atm. am i better off recoring the original one or is there a better one i can use? I dont want to cut any of the car if i can help it.

Most radiator places can make you a custom item easy enough. you tell them where to put the top and bottom outlets, how thick you want the core and where you want it to mount, and they will make it... some places will charge a mint, others will be reasonable, so shop around on that one.

AE71 rad won't just bolt in, you will need to attack the support panel somewhat. Cheapest option is probably to find a KE70 radiator in good order, shouldn't cost too much, and that way you won't have to cut stuff, otherwise go to a wrecker with a measuring tape, go through a bunch of radiators and see what's close. The trouble with the KE70 is the standard hole is quite small without cutting it.
With the position of the 20v in the ke70 bay and radiator mounted in standard place means either thermo fan or clutch fan setup are going to work shitty!
Best to get get an AE86 radiator with the FAN SHROUD and clutch fan setup and angle
the radiator so the clutch fan sits right in the fan shroud, there is a bit of modification involved
and some fabricating, to make sure the radiator is all boxed up but you'll have awsome cooling action![]()
Im just a little lostbut ill be fine!
so does this mean i'll have to cut some metal in the front of the car to allow for more air to get to the new radiator? if theres no other easy option i guess ill have to do it!
No cutting involved ol' spoon![]()
Dont stress, you wont have to wreck your baby
There plenty of room which ever way you look, left, right and centre in the later
model KE engine bays
And there is plenty of room for air to enter one's engine bay in a KE70
If i knew how to host and post up pics id show you my setup![]()
That's my mission post the fragen pics.
Untill next time..........

Just make sure you also swap the pump for one that can handle having a fan on it if you use a clutch fan.
The easy/lazy option is to attach a pre loved electric fan from a Camry etc. - shouldn't cost you more than $10, and is nice and simple to do. 4A's don't generate all that much heat sitting in traffic, so a moderate electric fan is fine. It's all they had from factory anyway, excluding RWD ones.
the easier, lazier and BETTERER option is to get a Mazda 626 ~80's model thermofan which is built into a shroud.... i used one of these on my AE71![]()
...... butt scratcher?!
Remember, the only 4A water pump which can handle having a clutch fan on it were the 4AC and rwd 4AGE. The others do nasty things to the bearings.
