They do have them for all early model Celicas.... send them an email.

The springs come in many different lengths.
Working out the correct length was one of the hardest things to work out for me when deciding what to buy.
I did a lot of calculations on paper to work out what would be the best length.

A lot of people just guess this kinda stuff, but if you are going to drive the car hard, you do need to think about it more.
You dont want the suspension/springs becoming un-captive, binding, running on the bumpstops during cornering, etc.

You can get progressive rate springs which i was also considering getting, but in the end they complicate setup a lot and are not worth the trouble unless you can easily swap spring rates at the shop.

    hi guys,

well i have contacted techno toy tuning again. they do coil over kits.

    a couple questions -

what are springs worth to buy here? as these come with springs, but the weight makes postage much dearer, so i am considering just getting the kit with out springs.

What length springs are you guys using? they recomended 8in springs for me, unless i am doing rally in which case 10-12 in.

also these kits have the weld on ring with the alloy sleeve? anyone used or had anything to do with this style as opposed to the steel weld on sleeve?

Springs around $200 a pair here in Aus.

I'm using 200mm long springs. I use some tender springs to keep it all captive, but if I was to use short stroke shocks this probably wouldn't be required.

I've got the weld on threaded sleeve. I've heard good reports about this and are better than the ring/alloy sleeve. But I don't know at the end of the day if there is much difference?

Check out our sponsor importbitz, he does a koni sleeve coilover kit for $300 i think.

    hey Joel,

thanks for the info.are the tender springs 200 dollars too, or are they included in that price?

yeah import bitz has them listed for 270 - without spanners. or springs.

the t3 ones are 150 australian landed with the adjuster - no springs. or 360 landed with my choice of springs.(they dont charge $200 extra for springs.... but the weight adds heaps to postage)
they have not yet sent me the price for the kit with the roller bearing tops instead, but so far they are much cheaper....

    was just checking my options.

    Cheers

these numbers are from my carina, but it is sama car as celica (only looking better )
I have 10,5" long 275 lbs springs and I´m using ST185 celica koni´s. Shocks are much shorter than carina/celica stock ones, so I have shortened struts also.
I´m using 3S-GE engine. I think those are quite good, maybe little stiffer would be good also.

8" (200mm) is a good free-length on the celica/sprinter struts with a shorter stroke shock. My RA23 struts with 200mm linear springs remain captive without tender springs, but only JUST. If I lowered the car another 15mm, the springs would not be captive anymore.

It would be easy to think that the longer springs (250mm +) are a good idea anyway since you have plenty of adjustment downwards on the sleeves to lower the spring platform to compensate, but this can be a clearance issue if you run wheels that sit the tyre very close to the strut, as they will now need to clear the strut AND springs/seats.

    Hope this makes some sense!
