I have a spreadsheet of peeps on my PC (which is getting upgraded at the moment - should get it back this weekend). No need to PM everyone - I already have their details.

it was a good suggestion organising a meet point.. I just think that people haven't been able to organise themselves in time.

don't worry Robbo - I'll do the chasing up as OST Event Organiser.

Received my call back from motorvation organizers regarding sword demo. Sorry no go. Insurance was the excuse, damn shame really.
So does anyone also have access to Japanese style clothing. I will be wearing my martial arts gear which is an all black outfit, with hakama (wide pants). Thinking of buying a full length kimono for $50 for the event.
We need more people that don't mind dressing up.
I reckon matty in a short silk kimono would really attract a crowd.

I don't mind dressing up (I'm a known fool in the right environment). It will be cool if Jenelle and/or I can sort-out a Japanese outfit of some kind.

I was a little dubious of the Sword thing myself, as you sometime get some pretty "unsavoury" people at these things, I wouldn't want the stress of something going wrong.

Never mind, I'm sure we'll go well this if enough of us turn-up and join in with the theme.

Wear a short version. no sleeves, above knee cut. jam a couple of chopsticks in your hair to hold it up, etc. then you will be 'hot' not hot. (don't hurt me matty!)
Maybe you could have a talk to matty about doing his hair japanese style, or am I pushing the boundaries??
The guys could go about wearing rice picker hats. And just try and get your hands on some martial arts uniforms. Or whatever suits the temp.
I'm going to see how long I can go with 3 layers of clothing on. Anyone want to start placing bets.

I just picked up a damaged (had two small holes) Kimono (full length) for $5. From a store called 'Japon' they are in rockerby rd subi. also in freo. They have all sorts of clothing (male and female). Most of it is very light weight material. The mens full priced kimonos are priced at either $20 or $40. They also have the jackets and obi (wide silk belts).
I reccomend buying some of the damaged goods as they are cheap and you'll prob only wear it a couple of times any way.
