yeah i sent him a pm so hopefully he will get back to me.. so ill let ya know!
ive also got another question.. Ive got an aftermarket intercooler off ebay for me motor.. and i was just wondering wether it is possible to use just heavy duty radiator hose? (truck radiator hose??) if i was lucky enough to find it with the right bends.. because i have seen alot of 1ggte with just normal radiator looking hose on them? espcially ones in the cars they came out in..
    cheers,

Yep, sure can. It's not as flexible or as pretty/long lasting as silicone, but radiator rubber isn't that far off what they use for factory joins/elbows, so it can't be too bad

    go for it
and if a bend isnt quite in the right place what you can do it cut the hose, and slot a metal tube inside and clamp it down and it gives a straight length to move the bend to where u need

oh okay then!! thats good news!! cause im on a tight budget at the moment!!
so does it have to be truck hose? because ive been told their is massive pressure in these things and normal radiator hose wont do it?

Thanks go to James Mandy, PULSSSAR was/is the extreme of polished EVERYTHING.

To get it perfect is a lot of hardwork and mucking around, but the finished product is awesome.

cam cover. firstly, remove it. You cant get it perfect with it on the car, forget it.

remove it, clean it, leave the gasket on the head, and cover motor with a lint-free towel or LARGE plastic bag.

hit the cover with some 240 grit wet'n dry. (do it dry)
This will get any pitting out, and cast marks

hit it with some 400 (wet)
hit it with some 800 (wet)
hit it with the final 1200 (wet)

any large cast marks or area's severely pitted, use an arrangement of needle files (cheap to buy) especially to get in the lettering.

    when finished, two options:
    a) do by hand with autosol twice, then finish up with "California Custom Purple Polish" (awesome stuff)

    b) if you have access, the best way to do it is on a propper buff wheel. You can buy a 1HP bench grinder (ryobi or something) for like $100 or so... Get an attachment to allow use of polishing wheels.

Get two or three different polishing wheels, a course thin thread wheel, a harsh cloth polish wheel and a final cloth finishing wheel. You'll also need the compounds to suit.

All up including bench grinder expect to pay say... $300 to $400. Keep in mind you can polish more stuff with this gear (charge ya mates).

as for getting it on the wheel. Make sure your covered in protective clothing, ie, apron, hood, mask, heavy gloves. Dont forget good goggles. you WILL get covered in 5hit (as will everything around you, cars, floor, hanging pictures)

Get the product on the wheel after prepping down to 1200 grit. then when on the wheel, keep your product moving constantly in the area your concentrating on, do not sit still, you will get "teardropped" metal (torn metal grain)... ugly.

Do each wheel until the thing looks like a mirror, take the product out into the sun and admire the shine, look for missed area's.

leave it to cool then wipe off excess buff compound with terry towling or earbuds (for small gaps)

WARNING. Polishing one thing can lead to polishing another. Polishing several things can lead into a polishing frenzy or in my case fetish. When absolutely everything that is alloy is polished, you will start to phone around to 'blasting' places enquiring about having your engine block and head glass blasted so you can polish it! You will start spending copious amounts of money on chroming things that you are unable to polish because they are not alloy.

    You've been warned.
Hint, dont do it... it's going to destroy you, socially and financially. People will start to look at you funny when they see you dribbling around your polished part.

There it is...easy guide to making shiny things

Well, most radiator caps open at about 13psi or so, so they must be able to hold at least that much At 100+deg too...

Hmmm... thats the best writeup ive seen on why to use a lift pump. One thing that was missed in it tho, is that the VL, VN have an in tank lift pump... a low pressure high volume pump of similar style to the usual internal efi pump.
