Default 2T/3T bellhousing same as 1G. confirm Rumour?

Anyone know if the bellhousing pattern from a 2T/3T is the same as a 1G. I read this somewhere a while ago, just want a second opinion.
If the answer is yes, anyone got a manual one?

The engine end of 3T-GTE, 2T, 2TG and 3T are the same. The only difference is gearbox end which can be to suit T40/50, W40/50 or W55 etc. So it depends what you want to fit as to whether there is a suitable or available T series bellhousing option.

I can confirm that 2T/3T are the same as 1GG. Which means that you can bolt the 6 speed g/box from a IS200 up to your 2T/3T.

Ah, thats the bit I wanna know. I'm actually trying to do the reverse and put anything I can find behind a 1G-GZE in my Corona.
Maybe I should put a 6 speed in the Soarer and stick the W57 in the Rona. If I pull the gearbox out of the missus' IS200, rekon she'll be pissed at me?

The question asked by GTtwin was if the bellhousing pattern for a 2T/3T was the same as a 1G. The advice that I gave was yes. This is a statement of fact NOT opinion. We need to look at some of the opinions offered.

One - Its is not close to, it is the same for 2T/3T and therefore 3TGTE. WDE_BDY has got it right.

Two - there is no such thing as a seperate bell housing for j160 - it intergral to the gearbox and therefore cannot be removed. Therefore let me tell you that the J160 does not bolt up to any bellhousing.

Three - the 1gg to w58 (or 55/57) bellhousing will also bolt up to the 2T/3T 'cos as has already been stated the engine bolt up pattren for the 1GG/1GF is the same as the 2T/3T.

Four - not sure where the M series bell housing comes into it 'cos its real different.

Agreed, ddeane has it right and summed it up nicely. Please ignore the rest of the false information in this thread, especially from merc-blue who seems to be making it up as he goes along.

ddeane, as was posted in the other thread that was linked, the G and T do bolt up to each other but there is one hole different. So they are interchangeable but not identical.
