every holden and ford motor ive ever seen has them... but i think thats got a lot to do with vibration issues from the manufacturer being shite. This is getting a bit OT tho, and a harmonic balancer, unless obviously ruined would not cause this problem I would be getting the flywheel and clutch PP balanced together, replace spigot bearing if not already done, and go from there... the effort of pulling it apart again now and doing it properly will be outweighed by the reliability gained.

oh poo. I really didn't want to hear that, I only asked in the hope that enough people would tell me not to worry about it even though I knew it would have to come out again or

Maybe I should get my F series diff parts together so I can have the car apart for another reason aswell

Thanks for your help guys, +rep will be coming when I get a chance (too tired now)

I had vibrations just recently, similar thing to you.

Turned out to be the harmonic balancer, I could see the thing wobbling when it was spinning. Made the engine run REAL bad.

    replaced, and bobs your uncle,.

So what you are saying Stradlater is both of you are having a balance problem?
will wal just pull it over the weekend apart take off the flywheel and pressure plate.
take it somewhere where they can balance for you on a monday.
take day off on tuesday put it back together tuesday and your done, car fixed no stress.

And if you are scared of the lock tight and dont have a peice of angle with the right holes, a couple of links of chain bolted to block then flywheel with hold it still.

If you are still looking for a possible solution, have you tried the online diagnosis system on the Exedy website?

Honestly I have not fixed it yet. It comes and goes so it's not mechanical or it would be there all the time. I'm putting it down to injectors but I haven't had time to test them yet. Most of the time it runs fine and when it does vibrate it's minimal.
