Default 5 stud on the front 4 stud on the rear.

Just wondering if it is okay (okay with the engineers) to run 5 stud wheels on the fron and 4 studs on the back (temporarily). Also is it okay to have the front rims a different size compared to the back?

Not sure about NSW but in QLD it's a no go.

I'm also pretty certain it's illegal to chage the stud pattern of your hubs on a road car no matter what state you are in. Rim size is OK as long as the rolling diameter is kept the same.

My understanding was that different sizes/types are ok provided that they are the same wheel/tyre combo per axle. Ie don't run different rims left side and right side (noone will ever know you have 2 pairs! )

i wasnt going to change the stud pattern on the hubs, i was going to get new hubs (from hopper stoppers). Does this make it legal?

    Its 100% legal.

    See my sig.

As above, only per axle needs to be the same, and then within 30% size of each other.

the way i read it, it just means that the front two and the rear two must be the same.

i don't make the rules or enforce them, i'm just saying what i can read. i understand it that all wheels must be the same, and the spare can be narrower.

I emailed them about that exact same thing, as its unclearly written.

    And they verified, per axle.

The fronts can be 17x7 +22 4 stud with 225/45/17, and the rears can be 18x9 +10 5 stud with 265/35/18.
As long both the rears are the same, and both the fronts are the same, its legal.

i see where your coming from joecoolmk2 but why would they specifiy front "axle or rear axle" if they didnt meanthe front can be different from the rear. Where else are you going to fit a wheel?
