right
since my timing is now out, any suggestions?
it's got a new crank timing pulley, new tensioner, and initially the timing was perfect.
After a very hard run, the belt has slipped a gear.
I remember thinking when I installed it "gee, that belt isn't as tight as I expected".. tight, but not *tight*. is it possible the tensioner was installed incorrectly (somehow)
something else I noticed... the tensioner I removed had a "1" on it, and the new on had a "2" on it (or maybe it was the other way around).. but I assumed these were batch numbers, as the (usually reliable) guys at CH toyota assured me it was the right part.
There are no secrets to installing a tensioner that I missed? screw in, remove pin, ???, profit?
