fuckit, I give up.
everything I touched is back where it's supposed to be.
will book it in for a mech on monday![]()
yes because of engine noise. As you said power was down! but the way you explain it sounds like the timing is out or one of the sensors or even something you have moved or touched etc to fix the timing belt! bloody hard when you cant see and hear it![]()

dont give bloody up, move on to the next thing! walk away and think of the next option and dont have a drink.
I'll be there, one way or the other.
worst comes to worst and it breaks down, at least I'll be parked outside a workshop![]()
lol and if you need any lexan products its only across the street and dave only charges $200 a day to park out side! hahahahaha and that was a joke, before rod chimes in!![]()
Finally!
got to the number 5 spark plug and found this:
a bent grounding electrode. (or more accurately, 2 bent grounding electrodes)
I have no idea how or why this happened, but it now works
either I just have shitty luck and the bridge finally formed in that power run, or something I did caused it.
piston meets sparkplug?

i didnt suggest it because i assumed after going to do power runs they would be new!
i dont think anything you did could cause them to be bent! very strange as i dont know what has been done! just check the same plugs after you do your run tommorro! then you can work it out from there!
i thought the same thing but i dont see how if he hasnt played with the deck or piston pin height!Originally Posted by ed_jza80
he did snap a timing belt... perhaps some piston/valve/splug shennanigans? bent it close to earthing, then under power run (rich) it earth out?

it could but thats a big arc! i PM'ed him something ED.
How abotu trying the plasticine down the cylinder trick. Or the long screwdriver with gradiations cut into it so that you can see your clearances?

I thought of that ed... but what could possibly cause piston to meet plug? yes, timing belt snapped, but that doesn't suddenly make the pistons go higher
It's purring like a kitten now, so nothing serious has been done. (touch wood)
no, but it might put a valve between mr piston and mrs sparkplug
but that would = a very fuxxor'd valve

yep, and I'd assume she wouldn't run very happily in that case
plus non-interference engine should mean that's not possible... yes?
or at least, my understanding of non-interference was that no matter what piston/valve did, they didn't hit anything
