    Default 3Sgte Turbo Choice, GT3076 vs TD05H 20g vs TD06SL2

    Hi Team

Im building a RWD 3SGTE second gen, currently have custom intake and turbo manifolds, with big throttle body and external gate. 880cc injectors, 550LPH pump fed off 255LPH surge setup all braided lines feed custom fuel rail with wasted spark. All controlled by a LINK G4 Storm.
Shooting for 200kw "troubleshooting" tune then somewhere around 300kw atw. After the troubleshooting period I will be forging the motor and possibly looking at cams, valves, 1zz buckets.
This is all going in a sub 1000kg ute so should be a straight line/ burnout monster

I have been looking at turbo choices for a long time and am looking for something reasonably responsive but good for 300+ kw at the top end. My choices have boiled down to the GT3076R or a TD05H with 20g wheel. Possibly open to a Holset or Masterpower offering if the price is right.

Being that the GT3076R comes in a 0.63 and a 0.82 the smaller rear housing looked more favorable for response but may boost creep at high rpm when shooting for high numbers.
The TD05H is around half the price (Kinugawa) and comes in a 0.55 and 0.73. Forum gurus recommend the 0.55 on a 2.0L motor but this being a smaller turbo then the Garret I think this would ruin the top end power.

Does anyone have first hand experience with these two turbos on a 3S?

It seems alot of people compare the GT3076 to a TD06 20g so maybe this is a better option with a small exhaust housing?

GTX3071R or borg warner EFR 6758 will get you there and have excellent response

Don't buy a cheese (kinu) turbo and expect quality.

Buy a Garrett, known quality. I have a GT3582r (.63) on my 3sgte and I'm making over 15psi at 3800 and full noise (20+) at 4000rpm. Making over 300kw atw on last dyno on 98 (on e85 now but no dyno runs yet).

If budget can stretch go a GTX3076
    ST205 Group A Rallye GT-Four 307kw atw @23 psi on 98oct, Now on E85.

GTX3076R with 0.82 rear housing on mine, litte less responsive then above but still make 25+psi around 4500-5000rpm. Currently making around 380awkw on 28psi (E85) so headroom for more power if you wanted otherwise as vito said go one smaller and have better response.
    If in doubt power out
