    Default 20V Silvertop Turbo choice...

So I've decided that N/A isn't going to cut it in my AE82 track car and I need to go faster.

I'm looking for between 160-170kw atw but can't decide on a turbo to suit.

I've done a heap of reading and get conflicting results when it come to different turbos. I'm thinking either a T25/28 or maybe a TD04 off a WRX but are open to suggestions from people that have real world experience when it comes to turbo 4AGTE's.

a new GTX2860 would go nice, the machined compressor would give you the option of higher boost for more power later. 0.64 AR housing should be good.
no clue about the TD04, I personally would want a ball bearing turbo if I went through all the effort. (are TD04's BB?)

Budget for turbo, lines, manifold and intercooler is about $3k.

The motor was rebuilt 2 years ago so I'm hoping to get away with just throwing a set of forged pistons and some arp gear at it. I'm going to use SamQ's intake adapter to GTIR plenum and I've got a Haltech sprint ECU.

yeah that's a tight budget, id go a second hand turbo if possible.
I don't know what manifolds are available for 4a's but yeah a 3S one is around $1k so if prices are similar that eats a lot of funds.

I can get a GT2860RS for under $1200 through I guy I used to work with, I figure a decent manifold will set me back around $900 which leaves around $1000 for the intercooler setup and lines. The exhaust side of things won't cost me anything.

yeah about $500 in braided lines and $500 in tube and a core for an ic. you should be close to your budget.

TD04 is a better alternative compared to an old T25 in my opinion. cheaper, better response, and will meet your power requirements

Get the big wheel TD04HL-19t. Best thing about the TD04s is there are a shitload around, cheap and you can mix/match front/rear housings and wheels etc to get them to suit you revs/response/power etc. How much boost are you going to run?
