    Default Headlight reconditioning.

I'm aware that you can buy kits to bring old faded plastic headlamps back to life, I have used very light sand paper in the past to bring them back as well, but I believe some people spray a clear coat over them after sanding them, what kind of clear coat do you use?

Mate - just get a headlight restoration kit from a brand name!!!
    Meguiars, Mothers, etc do one.

Repco do a kit in their own brand, but i wouldnt touch it. I'd use mothers or Meguiars personally - and i will do doing so in the near future as the lights on my ST246 caldina are a little hazy/yellow
    ...... butt scratcher?!

    Thanks for the links, Witzl.

I will definitely be picking one of these up, importing a brand new set of lights for my Crown will cost an obscene amount of $$$!

Talking to the guys at both Mothers and Meguiars, both their kits have a UV protectant built into their product - but it's obviously not as good long term as what the factory can do during manufacture.
They each rekon you'd get 6-12 months of good life from their restoration kits before it starts to go yellow/hazy again..... depending on various factors of course.

Is there any other sort of clear coat that can be used, besides the Mothers/ Meguires stuff?
