Default SC12/14 reconditioning - which parts?

i've been told it would be a good idea if i get the sc12 on the motor i have bought reconditioned. I've searched and read a few threads here, and most of them seem to say that the bearings and seals are all that should need changing.

My question is, do the rotors (sorry if they are named something else) also wear down substantially over time? If so, is there a replacement available, or do you just have to try find one in better condition?

Does the information i've seen around the forums also relate well to the SC14?

Yes, everything SC12 related also relates to the SC14. It is just a little longer, but the same in principle.

I'd forget about reconditioning your SC and just use it. A replacement will cost $2-300, a "recondition" will cost a lot more I'd guess. Plus I don't think they are particularly likely to break in the first place.

Just give it a good clean out with carby cleaner, do an oil change on it and use some gasket goop around the joining surfaces.
On the SC14's, the bearings aren't easily replaceable.
The above opinion is just that - my opinion. It is not shared by any business that I am currently or have previously been involved with, nor any of their employee's.
