When you get them would you mind measuring the bearings for me, i have a set of cusco ones in my KE55 and they have a unusual size bearing which isnt available in aus. I priced a set up for a customer (me making them) and to be honest at the $240 aus i wouldnt bother making them for a customer, mind you these where for an early Lancer and designed for a fair bit of neg camber. Be interesting to see what bearings they are using.

Update from me - I asked T3 if they did tops to suit Ra23 and they said yes, so ordered them. Then discovered this thread two days later suggesting they wouldn't fit!
Sadly that is the case. The three bolts to mount the top are too small for my car.
I guess that means I have a set of t3 camber plates for sale to suit a TA22!
Look forward to hearing if the S13 ones will work as I will get those instead.
How much too small? As its acceptable to drill the holes out 1 or 2mm if needed which was the case with mine.
On another note.. Has anyone had any luck finding decent quality rear shocks for the RA28? I'm trying to find some Koni's or Blistens but cant find any to suit and the resellers are no help in trying to match something else up.
Cheers

They are a long way short. It is a much smaller triangle that that of the RA23.
pretty sure whiteline site list rear konis for 1st gens.

They are not off the shelf - they take a shock for a different car (Commodore I think??) and change the lower bush to suit the Celica.
g'day,
the strut tops that t3 sell for the celica, they told me had a bolt spacing of 98 mm opposed to the ra 28 spacing of 110mm, so it was a big difference.
Joel, i have konis in the back(and front) of my 28. a mate up here that worked for bowers suspension got em for me. unfortunately he no longer works there.
i dont believe they were listed as a celica part. but whatever car i got em off WAS listed as having the same shocks in a different range.
ill see if i can find a part number on em for you as they are still nice and shiny.

Hi,
The steering idle and pitman arms are different between the TA22 and the RA23.

Thats correct.. Different again on RA40's.
pitman arms are the same between RA23 and RA40. The steering box and idler arm are the same between the 23 and 40 aside from the different bolt spacings. In this way, the RA40 idler arm can be purchased, and the ball arm and bushes transferred onto the existing RA23 idler arm, and will cost about half what the RA23 item does for the same part.Originally Posted by TurboRA28

Thanks for the correction there.. I didn't know the bits were interchangable.. Just remember buying a RA40 idler arm and the holes not lining up.
Thanks that'd be great to get some part numbers.. Were they shorter than standard? I'm making things a bit harder wanting the original length shocks as I moved the lower shock mounts down on the diff to keep the springs captive.Joel, i have konis in the back(and front) of my 28. a mate up here that worked for bowers suspension got em for me. unfortunately he no longer works there.

They are RAV4 Rears and are the same mounting setup. I'm pretty sure they are about 15mm shorter though so not sure if thats a problem for you. RAV4 fronts 8641-1319Sport should also work too.
Yeah i recall Mr bigworm talking about rav4 rears.. But I looked up this part number on the monroe catalog (not that i'd buy monroe, just that I have all of their dimentions). And they were around 75mm longer than RA28?
