its not a requriement to use the acmg pin, as x8 doesnt use that setup anyway.
your ecu isnt throwing any critical error codes? one of the reasons it is there is so the ecu can shut the a/c off when there is an issue.
Progress so far.
Once everything is finished I will remove most surplus wires and do some loom taping before refitting the modified glovebox.
NOTHING is happening still at pin 34 when pin 23 is grounded! Hi & low pressure switches bridged, engine running and on normal temp, differing throttle openings etc. So I will stick with how it is at present.

Hi cresslux
As mentioned I have wired up pin wire # 8 to pull in the compressor and the MX83 T5 ECU wire is wired to a relay socket to switch pin 23 to ground and kicks in the idle up nicely if I need it. (will see how the idle is when the system is gassed).
The only error code I am getting is the O/D light has started flashing twice:
A few days ago after driving 10Klm at around 80-90 Klm then the car sat for a hour after which the light came on about 5Klm into the return trip? The next time was after the car was idling for about 5 minutes in the driveway??
I fitted a good trans oil cooler in tandem with the radiator when I installed the 2JZ. The ECU and trans were from a 1995 Supra but the loom was not and it wasn't wired for a transmission oil temp sensor so I am going to wire that in and see what happens. It looks like the ECU wants a signal from the trans after reading wilb666's information.
I reset the flashing O/D light both times.
