    Default 1G Standard Cam specs???

I had a look on the old forums and found a thread with a couple spec on the 1G cams, but I just want to know if anyone knows the specs of the 1GGZE cams as opposed to the others.

This is the original post on the old forums...
    http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.p...8da1d0315f3f1b

I am chasing this info as I have 1GGZE cams and I think this may be one of the things holding the power back a little on my setup.. Someone said the ZE cams are smaller than the turbo ones... Jst want something more concrete...

    Cheers in advance

JCMF has some gen1 1GGE cams, some Gen3 1GGTE cams, and some gen2.5 1GGTE cams at his place.

He plans to get them all profiled to get some hard facts.

Better yet does anyone do aftermarket cams or know the cost of getting the stockers re-ground??? Surely there would be some worthwhile benefits in this for both the 1ggte and 1ggze. Yeah JCMF mentioned to me his been meaning to do this. We were talking about this a while back if there was a difference between Gen 2 and Gen 3. But he recently confirmed to me that my 1G is an actual Gen 3 so I been thinking maybe getting the stockers re-ground to get some more oomf.

I got quoted around $1100 to regrind 1jz cams so I imagine it would be the same for 1g.

You can get new cams custom for around $800.

Waggot Cams apparently charge $600 for a full set of 1UZ (all 4) of regrinds.

    Maybe give them a try?

My 1GGE i'd say is a Gen2. These are the cams i'm planning on using, but i'm as you said planning on getting them profiled.

Currently my car has the Gen3 cams in it, and to be honest, I don't notice a big/any difference over the Gen2 GTE ones, taking into account the BHG. It's not that much faster at the strip either.

Hey JCMF have u sorted the E-Boost 2 yet and had the car back on the dyno....just curious to know your results with a healthy engine.... been thinking of putting on some adj. cam gears to get some more midrange with the SAFC 2 what u think??? The other thing was I read if u tightened the spring a bit (two notches) on your AFM and still use the SAFC 2 you get a better throttle response and like you a bit of a delayed fuel cut...what u think???

The eBoost2 is "pretty" well setup, but I haven't used the correction feature yet, so boost drops off a bit still, I was waiting till my Adaptronic so I could do it using logging.

The spring was tightened 3 notches, I don't fully recommend it, because it caused a couple of annoying issues. The SAFC2 would be good.

As for results, no it hasn't been on a dyno post-BHG. It was able to run lineball at the drags with CrUZida's UZZ10 Soarer, which at the time had around 165rwkw and weighs about 75-100kg less. I'd put it's current power a little way over 170rwkw.

So can anyone either confirm or not, that the 1GGZE cams are the smaller of the series.

I just want to know if there is a cheap option for me, as I am using the 1GGZE cams now, and have access to the 1GGE cams and gears.

    Cheers

I couldn't say for sure whether the GZE cams are the smaller ones. Generally with any engine family though, the NA version is the one that has the biggest cams. It can't hurt if you have convenient access for them.
