Oh, not the pelican. Well wherever we're staying, I need Thursday and Friday if possible![]()
Yeah Garth, will stay Friday;
Can I pay cash?
Breather setup done
No baffle underneath as I couldn't find my grinder to cut any alloy, not that it would of mattered as the argon bottle is reading dead empty.......will see what happens lol Paint didnt work as well in red, fuck it, motor will probably blow up anyway.
Will need to bolt that on, fit new pads, another quick bleed, pour in some HPR30 and we are good to go.... might try a cold start on Thursday morning too.
Not sure if my tune will total the engine, have booked the car in for teh dyno but he is busy till next week. Have pulled some timing (33deg max for a 4AGE sound ok?) and tuned in some flames and bangs for WP shenanigans.
Started first hit this morning, was like 0.5c, my cold start tuna skills are strong!
Wont be doing the pads, the instructions specifically recommended not doing it on the street.
Cam covers and tank are mounted, it does blow out some oily misty shit out of the fitting, didn't fill the tank during tonight's testing but at some stage I'm going to have to baffle it.
Put two wheels on the back, looks dodgy as fuck so I'm going to run with that!
Might have to be careful with the straps as they will be anchoring off the rear quarter above the tyre lol
I have a new hub, bearing and shaft in the front left so hopefully will be able to make a whole day! Tyres are on their last legs and pads are shot - oh and fluid is very soft - but it'll still be a bit of fun. I got all excited this week, am really looking forward to getting down there. Might be a touch cold though, anyone seen a forecast?

i can help you bleed brakes on the day garthos. i can even bring brake fluid if you're gonna be a cheapskatei have 1L of unused penrite racing brake fluid which has been sitting around unused for 6 months now, as the adub build slowed down. may as well start getting some use of it before it starts to get poisoned by moisture
by the way, what time we meeting at brooks road?
i hope someone posts a time sheet, be keen to know what you lads set.
there is no timesheet. this is not a timed trackday. you need to bring your own timing gear
Bring your brake fluid Vito, I need to do pads and a further bleed on Friday morning.
Knocked over 300km on the motor, dropped the oil, looks like engine oil does after 300km on a new motor, no brass or chunky bits so
Tipped in HPR30, ready to go.
That aside, oil temps seem to be rather high. If I give it some for a minute its registering way hot and if I continue way hotter again. I had the alarm set of 130c on my new gauge and its hitting that easily. The sensor does bottom out on my sandwich plate as its twice as long as any normal oil temp sensor, I'm just assuming that's why, heat soak from metal and shit.
HPR30 is fairly thick oil and may also be contributing to the oil temps. Why you going so thick on the oil? If the pressure is good with thinner stuff I say go for something like a 10/40
