    sweet thanks again owen, i think if my pistions are still good i will be re using them,
    i will be focusing more on the head so as i dont have the same problem in the future.

    thanks for all the info, i will be taking heaps of pictures if i can get my hands on a digi and hopfully ill be back on the road in about 3 weeks.

    P.S how much should this rebuild set me back??

    is she referring to my bike as a little R1?? if so, then its not gone, its just going to get a makeover... fibreglass fairings and a new headlight and shes as good as gold

    Like TOSCO said, how much can you do yourself... that will tell you how much you need spend. Last one I did saw $1000 with valve springs, chains, bearings and all sorts... I did a 22RE for about $1300 with new pistons and everything, but 18RG pistons will be dear on their own...quick one should be about a gorilla if you do most of it yourself... make sure you have a good torque wrench, not a $50 super crap job.

    well my cousin is a mechanic so i think he would be able to do all of it. wont charge me an arm/leg/right liver and left testicle

    how hard is it to convert to EFI, just got a call is it worth it and how much should i pay??

    and use new head bolts, and re tap the threads.

    Haha, so a REAL R1(00).

    Efi is worth it for efficiency, not for power, it will need to much money spent to out perform webers, even early solex's. And its not too hard, ive done the equivalent to a 2T-G, they are really basic efi setups.
