look up 'provent' on ebay, all the pootrol and cruiser boys love them, i have one on my 80 series and it cleaned it up shitloads, used to seep oil at all the intercooler joins and manifold and stuff now its clean as
As per title, which ones out there are baffled and actually work?
I want to put an oil / air separator / catch can on my old 2.8TD hilux to help cut down some of the returned oil vapour, but don't want to buy just a shitty open can that does nothing. Without going through eleventy billion internet ads and contacting sellers, or paying big $$ for a custom one, can anyone tell me which ones around contain any form of baffling so they have any chance of actually doing anything other than looking bling?
Or is my best option to buy a cheap one with an easily removable top, extend the inlet pipe lower down into the can, and stuff some stainless steel pot scourers in the thing and hope for the best?
Cheers.

Looks like a good designed piece of kit - thanks for that. Any chance you can tell me roughly how big it is, I can't find measurements for it to work out if I can fit one easily.
This was the back up option, as I've used it a lot before for air compressor auto drains etc, and it works wonders in trapping and condensing oil due to the high surface area.
Anyone else got any thoughts?

9th page, there are other models too as you might see but the 200 is the most popular i think
If you're keen to spend a bit of money on something that had a bit of work put into it - http://www.radiumauto.com/Universal-...-Kit-P178.aspx
Genuine provent 200 is the shizz.
have one on pootrol which runs 33ish pounds of boost so breathes very hard and it cleaned it up ace.

Thanks again guys.
Provent 200 was ordered the other day, will see how it goes when it is installed. Aka, when i get my arse into gear.
Btw,
love KE70: 33psi into a td42? Does it make the earths rotation speed up or slow down depending on which direction your driving in?

makes 200 at the tyres on 35s,
makes a lot of noise about it, but it had nothing on the 500hp at the tyres GU patrol with a duramax on board I went in.
Mine feels and sounds faster, but the speedo tells different stories.
Definitely holds it own in some surprising situations and doesnt sound like a diesel on boost![]()

200 hp or killa wasps?

HP.
I could make 250 HP with the same setup but need the bigger plunger pump which I did not want at the time.
EGTS are great due to the high boost so it keeps everything safe, a TD42 is no 1HDT, especially if yours was the FTE?
Interesting thing is, I am running a laminova intercooler which you may or may not have read about on outerlimits and other dirty places on the internet, and everyone says and all the data shows that they are awesome.
Until the bloke dyno-ing goes, we build the 200HP pump with enough fuel to usually make 230 HP with a front mount, everyone of these laminova powered trucks I have tuned I had to up the fuel to get the 200HP.
So you tell me what the story is...
If I had the time I would actually like to set up sensors both sides of the mani for boost and intake temps and whatever else seems pertinent at the time...
Alas, it does nearly a thousand KM a week and is a neglected thing most of the time, and running your own business, with a project car on the go, it aint gonna happen soon![]()
