I cant post photos so heres a link. The photos don't really do it justice in my eyes. Thanks alot for your interest i didn't want to go down the flared road its been done to many times. Saying that though after 40 odd hours of cutting welding and grinding a friend of mine said "that's awesome, about as effective as a set of $500 fibreglass flares but.... good for you man" i think that kinda sums it up if it wasn't that i can do this myself, it is the most ridiculous thing to do to a car. I would never pay to have this done.

Nice work! You have gone to a lot effort to maintain the classic celicas lines, well done.
For me, the rear quarter panel line is worth keeping, big flares cover it over and detract from the look.

I like what you have done better than adding fibreglass flares...

If you finish this, to me it looks like you'll carry it off nicely.

Nonetheless, I reserve the right to call abomination later.

    Thanks for sharing!

Good work. This is going to look just right.
    Like you say just beefier.
It will be good to eventualy see some pics alongside a standard body so that any detractors will be silenced.

I say go for it. Accentuate the factory lines, but don't detract from them.

I plan on modifying my 28 to something similar to bigmat's, but probably a little more conservative.

I know I'm in the vast minority when I say this, but I believe the bolt on flare look is horrendous. They look like the owner was too cheap to properly modify the metal work and stumbled around their backyard shed until they found a piece of metal and said "yeah, this'll do"...

    Thanks.

I purchased the wheels from direct http://www.rotaaustralia.com.au/. They were super fast and helpful. I ordered the wheels at 4pm on a Friday arvo and they arrived before 9am Monday morning - Perth to Sydney!

Atara Racing have some similar designs with a larger range of colours and finishes.

Yeah cheers man i think my mock up rim is actually an 8 because i cant find any info on rota grids coming out any different than 16x8
i am running two 5mm spacers behind it though to get it to sit nice in the guard so im hoping i can run the 17x9 rbx rota in the rear and rb 7 or 8 up front

Your car looks awesome by the way.

Thanks, pictures on the internet are a lot more forgiving than reality...

17 X 9 will be massive but awesome, good luck.

    Back on topic:
Take a look at Misfit's RA28, he has a tough looking front end that I've been keen on for a while, I'm not sure if it would work with big pumped up guards however.
