    Thought I'd provide an update for future reference

    Went for the emissions test today and passed. Just to re-iterate the motor was stock with stock engine management, a front mount, 3 inch exhaust and a metalcat cat. Note that metalcat is the actual brand. Pricey cats but they do the job it seems!

    what cpi was the cat? normally 200 or 100 for performance cats

    I've got a 200 cell. I don't think you'd get a pass with with a 100 cell. I actually don't think a lot of the cheaper metal cats on the market would pass either.

    cool... I have a 200cpi vibrant performance, which did meet Californian emissions until recently.
    interestingly, we made over 500rwhp with the cat still in my exhaust - my tuner thought we would need to drop it, particularly with it being 200cpi...
