are you sure it wasn't a simple spelling mistake?
hey guys, just saw a listing for a 1GGPE on the toysport website, didn't list much details at all... same family as the TE and ZE obviously, but with only 110hp... what on earth is PE???

beer me!
hahaha.. wish i thought of that
nah, wasn't a spelling mistake... had the TE and ZE listed as well...
i can only suggest it's a variation of the NA (1GGE) version, 'cause with 110hp, and 10:1 comp it's not force fed...
strange thing is, it lists the 1GGE as having 150HP and 9.5:1 compression...
maybe P stands for POO

Only came out in GS-151 Crown, between 96 and 97. Strange they chose to use a GE head not an FE as you think the desired outcome would be for increased efficiency.

wow... i wasn't even aware they made a GE after the GA70...
not at all suprised to find it only came out in one model, look at it!! can't believe the same engine made decent performance once!

Hi,
1GG-TE => One Girly Ghey Toyota Engine
1GG-PE => One Girly Ghey Pooftas Engine
Just having some fun, so don't take it to heart. The 1G series is a mighty fine engine.

I recommend a look-in at the daughters while you're there
Think about combining that engine with GZE bits, blown on LPG. The effective octane rating of gas would keep it well away from detonation even with a fair shot of boost through it. Or even atmo with triple mikuni's, that would sound freakin tough. A 10:1 compression 1G, whooha!
My EPC lists the 1G-GPE engine on the GS120 and GS130 series Crowns which was the common car for the fleets of taxi's that ran around Tokyo and many other SE Asian countries at the time - mid 80's to early 90's.
And in a recent trip to Hong Kong I found the Crown was the taxi of choice there, all running LPG.

not really, with the lower cost of lpg, you can afford to sacrifice a little economy.Strange they chose to use a GE head not an FE as you think the desired outcome would be for increased efficiency.
wats weird is that it produces such low power.
usually, with dedicated lpg you can achieve the same power as petrol![]()

Yes, you can. Doesn't mean that's how it always happens though - can anyone say 'LPG Falcon?' - sure, they fit different pistons, but it's still a hard starting, backfiring and gutless pile of crap, therefore people presume LPG has to be that way...Originally Posted by love ke70
