    Default Any workshops/people in sydney that can wire-up a st20v 4age to ae86?

    Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of converting my jdm AE86 (comes 4age bigport ready) to the 20v silvertop.
The plan is to run an aftermarket ECU (Adaptronic e420c) so I can get rid of the AFM and run trumpets and coil packs. The ecu already has the st20v basemap loaded on it with a decent tune.

Problem: I'm not very autoelectrically sound and am pretty wrorried I'll destroy something

Does anyone know anyone/workshop in Sydney that could wire-up the motor to the e420c? I'll have the rwd conversion kit sorted and the engine will be in the car once I get all the parts together. OR would it be easier to let them do the conversion including replacing the engine? Being a student, price does make a larger sway towards my options...

Any information would be great, thanks

    Terry

give brintech customs a ring 0412 723 052. They definitely have the know-how to do it, but as with any kind of custom work like this I wouldn't expect it to be particularly cheap.

Lawrence is a good guy though, he might be able to offer certain services and suggest what you could do yourself to try and save some money. They also happen to be a toymods sponsor

send me your old and your new loom and ill wire them up and send one loom back
u will just have to join about 4 wires but I can help you over the phone and also with instructions
pm me or details if u r interest as ive done couple hundred 4ags
but if u want a nice new custom made loom its not cheap
if u want to just solder the adaptronic loom onto the end of the 20v engine loom if u have it then I can be abit cheaper
but first u need to wire the engine loom inot the body so all the dash and battery and ignition works
then u wire up the adaptronic so whoever does it expect to pay around 1000 bucks for a nice job
if u find someone quote you under 500 good luck with it
ive seen many a dodgey job on corollas because the old engine loom has wires that power the ignition switch
and some shops throw the orig loom away or don't use any of it and wonder why key doesn't work
then they start adding new wires all over the shop and it looks crap
seen it many times by afew guys who used to fit ems ecus

Thanks for the information guys. very appreciated.
dumbass: I have the original st20v loom and the ae86 is still running. Would the plugs on the 16v be the same as the 20v one though? and correct me if I'm wrong but someone had once told me that in the ae86, the body loom and the engine loom are more or less separate and working on the engine should be slightly easier?

PH@_MAN: Thanks for the info, will try them asap.

I'll see if i can get local help before sending things interstate.

id give yavous at unigroup engineering in girraween a call. i think all they do is engine swaps and ecu/carb dyno tuning, really seems to know his stuff and will get you the best result with the budget you give him. well did for me anyway.

I am helping out with stuff at brintech customs in my spare time atm and have wired adaptronics into 4AGs before. Bring it round or give loz a call as mentioned above and we will be able to get it sorted out.
