    Hey Guys

Just letting you know that I have found a Celica TA23 1976. Its the same one I have been talking about in http://www.toymods.org.au/forums/sho...89#post1554989. Picked up the car pretty cheap. Just started stripping the front end and removed all the electrical.

I will upload some new pics later. Its a pain in the Ass to get this system to upload pics.

Thanks for all your help and advise

    Cheers

Hey mate I totally agree. I shoved a metal bar in and attempted to bend it and it looked like it would bend. Once I strip the whole car I will do that.

What are some ways I could strengthen the chassis in these cars?

That links to this thread dude haha. The best way to put pics in your posts is to host them on photobucket or similar, then post the addresses with [ img ] and [ /img ] tags around them (without the spaces). From photobucket you can actually just copy and paste the forum code.

Good to hear you got yourself a car! Make sure to start a members ride thread to document all the work you do.

    Cheers,
    Chris

Glad you got yourself settled. I busted a chassis rail in my first 23. Panel beaters plated and welded and told me it would be stronger than new.

Imgur is your friend for pics. Upload pic, it generates the code that you can drag and drop into your post.

    Start your build thread...NOW!

Didn't notice the first time with the poor image quality. It does look like a creasing on the inner side of that subframe rail. In my defence, there is a big white arrow covering part of it too

As for strengthening the frames on these old girls, a lot of people run some RHS between the front and rear rails which protrudes into the rear carpet.

Personally I'll be using a roll cage to tie front to rear, and I'll get some braces fabricated and welded in to tie the rocker sills, rails and roll cage feet together. I'll have those braces for the feet of the main hoop, and the removable front section. Should help prevent the traditional body twist.
