Hi All,
Just got a new vehicle and i knew it had a few issues, perhaps someone has had the same and can let me know the next plan of attack:
1. Have noticed it losing power very intermitently couple times each trip. Usually while cruising, however it has done it once while accelerating.
Example:
Driving on freeway at approx 90km/hr 2000+ rpm, sudden cut of power for half a second, then back to normal. Sometimes has happened for a couple seconds as if the fuel is being cut out... Its usually while cruising, however it has happend once while accelerating.. I have been putting Shell V Power in it.. I thought it could be a bad batch of fuel and refueled the other day on 95 octane, problem still there...
I would say the frequency of it has increased over the last few weeks. Hardly noticed it when i first had it. Sometimes you can drive a 20min trip without it happening at all. I would say its very intermittent.
I have changed plugs and also put in new leads which have not helped it at all.
Also i cleaned the MAF with contact cleaner, I'm wondering if that caused any damage? I have also changed the air filter which was completely clogged up
Car has extractors i believe, and you get a resonance in the exhaust around 2200rpm.. wonder if that has anything to do with it?
Could the injectors be getting cleaned by V-Power fuel... i know its far fetched based on the V-power gimick but im just trying to consider all things...
I've read a few things on this, i.e. cam position sensor, fuel filter etc.. Just wondering what my next troubleshooting step would be or any tests that i can do to rule things out?
2. My clutch friction point is very low. The guy did say the gearbox was possibly replaced and possibly clutch, looking under the car, doesnt really look like its been changed. The car doesnt move or anything with the clutch pushed in, I just find it bites really low... Is it just an adjustment that needs to be done?
3. Anyone have a spare front IFS diff. In WA... cheers

No idea about the power loss, check to see if its logged a code before doing the usual shit.
Clutch sounds fine, if its picking up low then I wouldn't be worried........ wouldn't be worried if its picking up a little high either
Worry when it starts to slip or you can make it slip (give it a kick under full noise in 3rd or something and see what it does)
