    Default 1JZGTE hollow tapping noise

    Hello Guys

    Ive got a 1JZGTE in my z30 soarer when I start it from cold its ok but when its up to operating temperature there is this hollow tapping noise sort of like someone tapping on the plastic cam gear cover...

    It gets wierd when remove the 2 top bolts holding on the metal plate behind the cam gears the noise goes away? no its not the bolts as there is clearence between them and the gears please help its driving me nuts!!

    I have a similar problem with my 1JZGTE in a Soarer. Did you sort yours? Likewise mine is driving me nuts. Any information welcome.
