Lead won't make it springy, just heavy. To do what you suggest, you'll need to heat treat the cast metal to match the swaybar.
Could you double up another swaybar? It's been done before to good effect on other vehicles.
I'm trying to find a very stiff rear swaybar for my MX83 (for drifting purposes) and seeing as they're hard (or expensive) to come across..the thought occured to me why not try filling the standard swaybar with metal to make it solid?
I have access to lead that is used for in lead soldering machines.. I was wondering if I cut out an opening in the swaybar to fill it up with molten lead then weld it back up... woud this work? Or is it a stupid idea?
Cheers

Firstly what's expensive?
I would have thought whiteline etc would do one?
As Terra said double swaybars is also something to look at

the outer section does almost all the work, so even if you filled with proper springy steel, it would not make much difference.
double up will be much easier and more effective

Ok cheers, I'll look into doubling up
Not sure if this is allowed or not, but here is a link to a guy that makes and sells the double mounting brackets for MX83's.

A 1" solid steel bar is only 10% stronger than a 1" tube with 10% wall thickness.
if that makes sense..
could always design and fabricate a traction bar like a drag car... (to stop them launching one wheel in the air)
then the rear end would have almost 0 flex![]()
I did the double swaybar trick on my MX73 and it made a HUGE difference to the handling.
I used $2 10mm Chinese D shackles to attach the 2nd sway bar near the body mounts and the tie rods are long enough to bolt thru both bars.
I documented all of this with pics on a Cressida specific forum which I'm probably not allowed to mention or post a link to here.
Msg me directly if you want more info or can't find the original forum posting.

my stock mx83 swaybar was allready solid.
having a larger custom one made up isnt very expensive either....

works a treat.

When I did this I used stock Toyota swaybar brackets that have a bolt hole for each end, get new swaybar bushes to suit, and bolt them together...
i.e.
