Default 22R, got fuel, got spark but no go!

Tried to start the ute last night, had an issue, it wouldnt start!
Its been only sitting for 4 days. Its been quite cold and wet. Havent had any inklings of any kinds of issues, it was running great until last night. Checked coil, got spark. Theres spark at the plug leads. Fuel pump is working. Havent checked spark plugs yet, or points, waiting for a mate to come up because I cbf. It cranks over but just wont start.
Last night I popped the bonnet and jiggled the plug leads and it started, but this morning it wont start at all.

So heres what I think could be issues. Spark plugs, but the ute is not running rough and hasnt had any problems. Points gap, but again, no other running issues. Or I have a carbie problem.

Does anyone have any ideas? Every one I have asked says "its got fuel and spark it should go."
    Its a carburetted 22R.

Cold and wet.... I'd guess your plug leads are crap and its not getting enough kick to the plugs to start it.

There could be a bit of moisture inside the distributor cap from condensation. I doubt if it has points. Check your engine fuse. If it is blown the idle fuel cut solenoid will stay shut off so you only get fuel to the main jets and not the idle circuit.

Thanks guys, must have been some moisture getting in somewhere. Went out about an hour ago and hit the key and she started no worries. Ah well, I'll go get some new leads and its due for new plugs anyway. I did check all the fuses this morning, they are all new, and not blown. Had to replace engine fuse a few months back due to some other electrical issue :/

Classic symptom of old HT leads absorbing moisture resulting in a weak spark. New HT leads will almost certainly fix the issue for you.

avoid the blue fml/topgun leads, they split, fall apart zap you, etc. Unfortunately alot of auto places only carry those in stock but can order you in better stuff.

If that doesn't fix it, maybe check the dizzy cap for cracks or a bad seal or maybe the coil w/ingiter is a bit iffy.

I'm used to dealing with a 22re thougg but it should be same same.
