    Wow - thanks for all your help / photos and comments.

    Looking through everything above, I believe the suggestion for either the VF32 or VF33 is off the mark, and that the most appropriate choice given the basic requirements [6lbs / physically small / inexpensive] looks to be the TD04 or TD04L from a WRX. The T25G in the right hand side of the photos is also a possibility.

    Have I understood that correctly?

    That is the way i see it yes, and if it's a toss up between the TD04 and a T25, I would pick the TD04. They are newer, more commonplace, and cost $2.50 as everyone with a wrx fucks them off fairly quickly for bigger turbos.

    Garrett also do upgrade turbos in TD04 flange now, so you have an upgrade path also...
