Default 1G-GTE Bearing size grading sheet??

Hi guys.... I should be getting a new crank today, (Is200 one is the same part number, and they are common as muck here woooo) So I can order stock sized bearigns from Toyota....

The problem is Toyota UK don't have a grading sheet (is that the right term???) for my engine, so I can't match up the markigns on crank/block/rods etc to order the correct sized big ends and mains

Does enyone have a 1G-GE/GTE bearing grading sheet at hand, or acces to one?? This should be the last hurdle to get all the bits I Need!!!!

    Cheers...
    Charlie.

if your using second hand parts they will need to be measured and more than likely change a size. even with nubers on them you should still measure everything so you get clearances right. then its a case of ordering berings and rings to suit the machining or they will be std sizing if not machined and are within the limits.

3S-GTE bearings are the same hopefully this helps a little. I found very little info on the 1G-GTE bearings as no bearing suppliers here have the 1G-GTE listed.

lol, this is a fun topic!

for big ends use 4k bearings, ACL code 4B1101

for mains use 2s/3s bearings ACL code 5M8361

obviously, you need two sets of each to make up a full 6 cylnder set.

Karma Supra, are you saying that 1gge cranks are the same as 1ggte ones?
if so, that company in New Zealand you put me on to should be very useful!
i emailed them today, and hopefully should get a reply tomorrow as i coudlnt find a number to call them on

see thats interesting, as i was talking to a walking, talking EPC today, and he was telling me that early 1G cranks have 42mm big ends and the later ones have 44mm big ends.
the 42mm ones are the ones where you can use toyota 4k ones, so why is it that we cant use mains and big end bearings from a 1gge or 1ge of 1gfe if the cranks are the same?
to me it defys logic for them to be different.
and also, are the pistons in the 1ggte and 1gge the same with just different rod lengths?
if so, we can get pistons with rings for 27 bucks each

oh and also, if you want forgies Karma Supra theres a place in brisbane that does them for 1300 with rings.
i dont think theyre required tho....

Ahhh..... it may be because my car is a late GA-70, i.e. after august '88 so I had the revision three 1G... if you look at the epc pages you will see the earliest 1G with that crank was infact 08/88....

My fault I should have specified that I was taking later model 1Gs as that is what my car runs! Did you look at that page??? Quite a few cars share that part number!!!

Apparently the rods are diferent between is200 and 1G-GTE (not suprisingly, but we checked anyway as I bet is200 bearings are not hard to obtain!)

Hmmmmmmmm forgies if Only my wallet would allow I wanted to get teh rods peened too to be sure to be sure...

That said I am only really aiming for the reliable 300 or so hp mark.

I can confirm - there are two bearing sizes for the 1G engines, I have a 1G-GZE bottom end but cannot for the life of me remember if they are 42 or 44mm...

    yeah, i did look
but, as i said im using the early model crank so things are a bit different for me...doesnt help me too much tho as your talking about the late model.

so, from reading, the cranks are the same, so that must mean the main bearings for all the engines are the same, yes? as theyre all 1g blocks, and using the same crank, me thinks they must be...

hrmm, so have we worked out if 1gge and 1ggte pistons are the same and the rod varies in length to change compression? or if the pistons are the same...

also, headgasket for 1gge and 1ggte are the same arnt they?

looks like im finally getting somewhere

I *think* so mate, but there is a lot of assumtion going on here... and you know what they say about that

Your best bet is to get old of an EPC, or ask someone nicely that has one!!! I'll ask about but I think our EPC man is beggining to tire with my frequent random 1G questions

The problem is loads of people know the answers, but their answer often seem to be different!! I was told a bit back that gen 2 and 3 engiesn ahve the same internals.... But I don;t think this is the case (as said by hydra earlier).

see if you can get a copy of the EPC on emaule and get t working!!!! I tried, adn it failed

just from experiance, if you MEASURE everything you, bearings are very very easy to find. i would never go on just manufacturer if you want your engine exactly right! 99.9 percent of the time it might be perfect, but for the sake of half checking, why would you want to lose a good motor.
If you have trouble finding bearings over there let me know as i have to send some pacels over there soon anyway to my brother.

    Cheers guys!!!!

As soon as the crank arrives, I am sending it stright to my machine shop to mic it all up to make sure everything is spot on, (far better then and home measurements I'll do!)

We have a huge show here next month and I would really like my car ready for it!!!

    Thanks again guys!
