Default Larger clutch master for JZA80?

    Hey guys,

Does anyone know a larger clutch master cylinder that can be used for a Supra? I've found that a Landcruiser has a 3/4", does anyone know the bolt spacing on that?

    Cheers,
    Nathan

Yeah, this is better fix then your post about boring/sleeving the master.
I think you'd be even better off if you could find a smaller dia. slave.
That's still conditional on what the cause of the real problem is. Like why?
    Good luck.

I've got a Tremec T56 with its factory concentric slave. The Commodore it came from has a larger master cylinder. As is, even at full adjustment, can't quite disengage my clutch.

The other question was because that's the way someone else had tackled the same problem when they were having a similar problem with their Howe concentric slave.

We went through a detailed catalogue of masters when we were looking for a replacement to match our Howe setup and even though there were some Landcruisers and Hiluxes with the right bore size, the body wasn't a correct match for the Supra/Soarer master.
We've put our resleeved Soarer master through more than a dozen track days double stinted with Jeff and I and it's been driven to and from these track days at Oran Park, Wakefield Park and Winton over the last 2-3 years with close to 10,000kms on it now.

Resleeving with a stainless sleeve will probably outlast the car and has been common practice for a very long time in this country - I resleeved the master in my first car over 20 years ago and it went on to do more than 300,000kms in my possession.

Haha, was hoping you'd be back on here to explain I was thinking about the body issue. The Supra one looks a little bespoke compared to the alternatives.

I'm not concerned about the sleeving, guess we give it a go this arvo. Going to run it into Perth Brake Parts and see what they can conjure up.

    Thanks Manny!

How hard is the pedal feel with the JZA80 Master cylinder ? The other option is to sleeve down or put a smaller bore slave clyinder in it, the down side being the pedal will feel harder to depress, but then in saying that you will get a harder pedal feel with a bigger M/cyl anyway ..Either way you will get the throw you need ..

The pedal is really soft until the end of the travel where it just pushes against the clutch. Should be good with the larger master. Didn't want to modify the T56 slave.

Just dropped it off. $205 for the factory one made 3/4". Fingers crossed!

Did the slave cylinder rod start to move as soon as the master was depressed ?, ( as it should ) because from your description of a soft pedal, you may have had air in the system or to great a clearance between the throw out bearing & the pressure plate fingers ..

Not really possible with a concentric hydraulic release bearing

We initially thought air, so we bled the shit out of it. Out of interest we unbolted the box and depressed the clutch. It managed to push the box off the engine, so it does work. With the spring and factory slave, it just doesn't seem to have the throw to disengage the clutch.

Fitted one up a few years ago to a JZA80 for the same reason. Was just picked out of the cattledog, and i think we had to file one hole by about 1mm.

Pretty sure it was this one: http://www.apracing.com/info/product...Type_2390_2389

    Uses a remote res

Edit: that said, for the prices that AP charge for gear its probably just as cheap to get one resleeved.
