Early 3SGE motors (series 1 ST162) had a six-bolt flywheel, all later versions of the 3S have an 8-bolt flywheel. Otherwise, crank and rods are the same, only pistons are different
Hi guys can anyone tell me if 3sgte and 3sge have the same rods and crank as im rebuilding a 3sgte and can get a 3sge crank and rods, as mine are buggered but dont know if they are the same ?

3sge rods can be thinner than the gte counterparts. i think the gen1 3sge has the same amount of bolts as the gen2/3 3s but they are closer to gether/ different PCD and thinner bolts, same as the 5sfe
gen 3 3sgte rods are also the strongest as far as i recall . They are a good alternative for builds if you cant afford to go a forged rod !
