im sure we could find someone local to compare with surely?
my 1g ones are off the engine, so it would be as simple as holding them infront of a 3s with the cover removed jus to make sure.

Just one thing, why can’t you take your stock 1g cam gears and give them to a machinist to make adjustable? I know UAS were doing this for 1jz cam gears.
It's probably easier for some people to just order the parts in, i'm guessing.
I'd personally just get a set made up to my specifications![]()

chris davey - i heard someone tried to do this, and the particular machinist wouldn't do anything less then a batch of 10, and the cost was quite considerable.
i don't know why anyone would get stock 1J cam gears made into adjustables, you can buy them off the shelf and you get a guarantee.

they were only about $130 each compared to $250+. Also Manny was the one that was talking about it and most people with 1jz's know that he knows his shit and wouldn't recommend a bad product.
But if you need 10+ then that is an issue.
$130 to have the stock ones modified?! who was doing that???

Any creditable machine shop should be able to make/modify a set of gears. Making the centres is the easy bit, it is the machining of the slots and drilling the gear that is the costly/time consuming bit with this process..
I do believe that JHH engineering in brisbane has done some tho.. I had a CA18 one done a few years back for someone.
the best way would be to go see an machinist with cnc mill and see how many he would want to do, to make it worthwhile doing the program for. then get a group of people that want the same. Once the program is done its just a matter of ringing up! make sure you put a good spin on it that there will be more in the future{as there will be}.
drilling the standard cam gears is the easy part, find a spare set to leave with him so when he is quiet he can do a exchange set to have sitting there so he dosnt have to make them when he is busy and he will prob give a bit better price.
