Bolt thread pitch/diameter/length for 1ggze alternator?

I've got to pull the rounded bolt out of my alternator but want to get a replacement before I do.

Part no is 90116-10118 but of course too old for Toyota to have in stock.

I'd like to call into one of the local fastener places and grab an alternative.

Anyone got any idea of the thread diameter/pitch etc?

Part is common with Cressida and supra of the late 80's early 90's

is it the top long one or the short ajusting one
if its the same as the 1ggte it would be a metric 12mm x 1.5 mm pitch for the long one
or a metric 8mm they are all the same as any bolts on the car pitch wise as being jap its all metric
i can get u the length of the alternator bolts if u need

While you are sharing the knowledge. Any idea if there is a suitable not OEM replacement part for the bypass hose near the thermostat?

is that the one that goes aroung the back of the motor?
i took all mine off and just made blank plates to cover them up and removed all the steel piping while i had the motor out

Nah, it's up at the front on the RHS (from the drivers seat perspective). Maybe this photo helps? (or maybe not)

The alternator is on the other side of a 1G-GZE so its adjustor is different to the 1G-GTE. I had a look at the part number you listed and I couldnt figure out where that was but it doesnt look like its to do with the alternator.

There is two bolts holding it in place and the lower one goes through a bracket on top of the supercharger that has a small nut on a long threaded rod - http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_198...TPZR_1603.html

Adjusting Bracket - 16381-70042
Lower Bolt - 90119-08743


The thread used on modern Toyota's are all metric but they do vary between fine and standard pitch so be careful of that too if you cant take it in as a sample.

It's listed on toyodiy as "bolt/alternator bracket" for a number of different engines.

That part seems to be involved in bolting of the bracket to the block, not the adjustor. Have you got a pic of specifically what you are looking for as the parts I listed above are to do with the belt adjustment with the alternator.

Definitely a short adjustor. I hope this shows it clearly enough. I can see where two bolts hold the brackets on further down. This one sits in the cut-out of the bracket that slides to adjust the alternator.

Yep, that is Lower Bolt - 90119-08743. I had to change it on my old motor as well, it only needs to hold it in position as the small rod/nut is what tensions the belt.

So (assuming it wasn't rooted) loosen that and then adjust the tension via the rod that can be seen in the pic, then tighten back up?

Yep, but you also need to loosen the top mounting bolt as well, adjust the belt tension with the small nut then tighten them both back up.
