Any word yet on if we're having split sessions?

Post Re: TECCWA Red Mist Series 2 - Jan 13th is Event 1 of 3

    Hi,

No, there is only one session, which starts a little later than series 1.

We'd only split sessions if there were numbers well into 20-something, which there isn't as yet, and where there were enough in the PM session to warrant it. We can't run an AM session with 10-15 cars, and then have less than 5 in an afternoon session. Logistics don't warrant it.

It's also difficult to split sessions at the last minute, and keep everyone happy, as there'd need to be enough willing to wait for a PM session which has never been the case so far.

If the concern is regarding when you'd finish, which shouldn't be an issue with current numbers, the option is to drop the number of runs from 3 per layout (9 runs total) to 7 or 8. But I'd only do that if there were no objections and people want it that way. The other thing is just to keep things running smoothly with cars lined-up and doing their runs as efficiently as possible.

    Regards

    Just checking, that's Joshua out?

Wet weather? Don't you guys know the BOM by now? They say thunderstorms all week and then it will be fine on the day - unless Damo's coming!

    Hi Gene

    Thanks for the reply mate

15 or so is fine with me, Bevan's out for this round (mostly out of time concerns). The biggest killer was the wait time between each run!

I've sent through my payment through for the full series, I'll bring *something* down, even if it's just the rolla! If I bring Decade down again it *WILL* need new tyres. Might have to find some spare 16s to fit the R-comps to...225/50/16s on a rolla? Suuuure

No problem. There was intent to try make the Xmas event in Dec more social too, allowing time for people to chat between runs, so that isn't necessarily indicative of how it will run in the series.

There's a balancing act getting the right number of entrants, runs and sessions, and we do have to be flexible and adjust for when a lot of people enter and when it's quieter. Not to mention keeping it feasible and value for money.

Here's the current forecast for tomorrow:

    Sunday 13 January
Min 20 Max 28 Storms. Rain.
    Perth area
Cloudy. Isolated showers, becoming widespread later in the evening with areas of rain. Isolated thunderstorms. Winds easterly 20 to 30 km/h.

While it could make things interesting, I'm hoping it will be good in the morning and early afternoon, while we attempt to make hay while the "sun" shines. And if we get it done early enough, hopefully we'll avoid the later stuff.

Otherwise, we'll see how our first wet Autokhana goes.

Currently, it looks like we have 15 confirmed entrants, with Neil still touch-and-go.

Rain and chance of a storm.
    Chance of any rain: 90%
Rainfall amount: 6 to 15 mm

Likely it will be wet.... More fun for the lexus
